Plein Air Paint Out, Exhibit and Sale - September 12-13
The 5th Annual Plein Air Paint Out was a grand event.  More than 40 artists painted outdoors on Chincoteague and Assateague Islands, using their unique talent to capture scenes quickly before the movement of sun and clouds changes the landscape.  See images of the painters at work.

2nd Saturday Art Stroll
October 11, 6-10pm

Enjoy artist demonstrations, music, book-singings, wine-tasting, exhibitions and more as you stroll the streets of Chincoteague Island. Pick up the October InfoMap at participating shops or check our online listing of events.

CCA Fall Acoustic Music Concert Series
The Fall concert series offers a variety of performances for your listening pleasure. The Blue Rythm Boys play their own brand of blues and hot swing jazz on September 20. In October, award-winning North Sea Gas plays and exciting blend of Scottish and Celtic music. Greg Trooper, troubador and singer/songwritier,  rounds out the fall series in November.

Refuge Inn is the major sponsor of the Fall Acoustic Music Series.  The Inn offers a variety of accommodations suitable for couples, families and group gatherings; plus a great view of Assateague Island and the light house.  Refuge Inn is located at 7058 Maddox Blvd.  1-888-831-0900

Native American Festival November 8
Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 8, noon to 5:00pm. The Native American Festival returns to Robert Reed Park on the waterfront in downtown Chincoteague.  Participate in the Honoring Ceremony at noon, for veterans and those currently serving in the armed forces. Enjoy performances on drum, flute and native dancing.  Educational exhibits featuring Native American cultural, artifacts and technology will be on display.  See flint knapping, pine needle basket-weaving, corn grinding and more.  Story telling for kids too. More details coming soon.........

2008 Pony Pins are now available!
Proceeds from the sale of Pony Pins, designed and crafted by Jim Warren of Laughing Dog Jewelry, support CCA scholarships for Chincoteague High School students who excel in the arts. Pins are sold at CCA member shops, including Island Cottage Collection, Wine, Cheese & More, Sundial Books, Island Butterfly, Island Arts, Vintage Rose Antiques and Egret Moon Artworks or online.
